Surfista Cafe in El Paredón is exactly the kind of laid-back spot that suits its beachside surroundings. This cafe draws a mix of locals and visitors who come for more than just coffee—they come here to settle into the easygoing rhythm of the town. With palm trees rustling nearby and plenty of casual seating, it feels like a natural pit stop after a morning surf or a slow afternoon break.

The coffee here gets a lot of praise for being rich and well-crafted, with iced options like the vanilla latte offering a refreshing kick when the coastal heat sets in. Alongside the coffee, the smoothie bowls stand out for their hearty texture—they’re known to hit the spot without feeling watered down, a detail visitors appreciate in a place where fresh and filling breakfast options can be rare. For those looking for a bite that's a bit more substantial, the Surfista Sandwich and a house-made limonada add familiar but satisfying flavors, rounding out a menu that suits both early risers and those taking a midday pause.

Locals and travelers often mention the friendly, welcoming vibe fostered by the staff and owner, which creates a communal atmosphere. There's a sense that this cafe serves as a social hub—a comfortable “clubhouse” of sorts after a day on the waves or exploring Buena Vista. The reliable internet and presence of people working on laptops hint that it’s also a practical choice for those mixing leisure with some light remote work or catching up on emails.

Surfista feels at its best during mid-morning or early afternoon, when the heat is balanced by a gentle breeze and the mellow chatter of surfers and coffee lovers fills the open-air space. Whether you’re here to energize before a surf session or unwind afterward, the cafe’s easygoing charm and solid menu keep it firmly rooted in the local lifestyle of El Paredón.

Surfista is a perfect cafe for relaxing with a cup of coffee (and some food)! The coffee and the smoothie bowl are delicious. I saw quite a few people working there while I was there and the internet speed seems good.

Surfista Cafe isn't just a cafe; it's a haven for wave riders and coffee lovers alike. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by the warm smiles of the friendliest staff, ready to assist you with anything from a perfectly brewed cup of joe to the cutest shirts. The coffee here is simply divine. Rich, aromatic, and expertly crafted, it's the perfect pick-me-up before a morning surf session or a midday recharge. And let's not forget the apparel. Stylish, functional, and inspired by the ocean, their selection of apparel is top-notch. Whether you're a seasoned surfer or just dipping your toes in the water, Surfista Cafe is the place to be. It's more than just a store; it's a community hub where you can connect with like-minded individuals, grab a great cup of coffee, and gear up for your next adventure.

Seriously one of the best smoothie bowls I've tried!! Consistency is perfect not watery at all (hard to find that in Paredon) and suuuper filling. Great atmosphere and the owner is super friendly, would totally recommend!

I absolutely love Surfista Cafe! It's hands down the best spot in El Paredón. As soon as you step inside, you're greeted with a warm atmosphere and the friendly face of the owner likely grinning ear to ear. Surrounded by lush palm trees, it feels like a hidden oasis where you can relax with friends over a delicious cup of coffee. We often refer to it as our clubhouse, the go-to spot after a surf session or a day in the sun. With fast WiFi available, it's also perfect for catching up on work or planning your next adventure. Their Guatemalan espresso is top-notch, and they offer a variety of tasty drinks and snacks (the smoothie bowl is my personal favorite). Plus, the cafe is connected to Ocean El Paredon, a fantastic surf shop where I couldn't resist splurging on their trendy clothes and accessories. Whether you're craving great coffee, shopping for unique items, or just seeking a laid-back hangout in El Paredón, Surfista Cafe has it all. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting this town!

My favorite iced mocha latte ever (they got oat milk!)! And the smoothie bowl and the surfista sandwich is where it’s at. Perfect spot to work on the computer with reliable WiFi and brunch. Can’t recommend enough!

One of the BEST spots in town to enjoy a good coffee, read, and relax with the good vibes. Very close to the Aldea side on the quiet, tranquil side of El Paredón. Damian the owner has done an awesome job to create a quality ambiance & community. 100% recommend to my local and expat friends visiting town.
